HER, Best Film and Screenplay of 2014 this moment. A story about human relationship with technology, virtual reality. Not the first film to talk about this topic, but definitely a brand new approach to told it this way, romantic, dreamy, a bit surreal but so realistic at the same time. I like “Air-doll 空気人形” by 是枝裕和 Hirokazu Koreeda, but it’s too dark and depressed if it’s comparable. Plus my favorite band ARCADE FIRE’s music, the soundtrack is going to loop on my song list for a while with their last album “Reflektor”.
Perception. We Live in our own world.
Modern life with technology, we stop the real social contact with human being in person, we face the screen and type messages to someone we think we are typing to; we build relationship with someone we think we are building to.
We don’t need a face to look at. We live with our phone, computer and all other devices. Text and Sound are all we needed. It is our method to make contact and communicate with others. We smile, we cry, we anger, we argue, we fight, we jealous…all the emotions and activities is happening between us and other human or computer, whoever, and who cares. We are living in our own world, the world we think we are living in. The world that only exist in that tiny little screen we are facing everyday, every minutes, every second. This is a socially accepted modern life we are living in right now.
